So your boss has started casually mentioning 'efficiency tools' in meetings, your inbox is full of AI-generated summaries of AI-generated reports, and somewhere in Silicon Valley a startup is raising $40 million to do your job worse than you but faster. Relatable? Yeah. WIRED thought so too.
The publication is hosting a livestream AMA on May 27 where a panel of their experts will dig into the big, messy, slightly terrifying question of how artificial intelligence is reshaping the modern workplace - and more importantly, what any of us are supposed to do about it.

Why this actually matters
Look, we have been drowning in AI hot takes since approximately forever. But there is a real difference between breathless 'robots will replace us all' doom-posting and an actual informed conversation about which jobs are changing, how fast, and what skills are going to matter when the dust settles.
That is the promise here. Not vibes. Not speculation from someone who has never held a job outside a venture capital firm. An honest panel discussion with people who have been tracking this stuff seriously.

The part where you get to participate
Here is the genuinely cool bit - WIRED is collecting questions in advance. So if you have been lying awake wondering whether your career is about to get automated into oblivion, or if you are just curious about how companies are actually integrating AI tools versus how they say they are, now is your chance to ask people who might actually know.
Think of it as the therapy session you did not know you needed, but make it a tech panel.

What to ask
The smart questions are not just 'will AI take my job?' (boring, also: maybe). The more interesting territory is stuff like which industries are seeing real disruption versus which ones are mostly getting PowerPoint decks about disruption. Or how workers can negotiate their value when employers are tempted to reach for the cheap AI option. Or what happens to the humans doing rote tasks when those tasks disappear overnight.
If you have a specific job in a specific industry and a very specific existential crisis about it - that is probably exactly the kind of question worth submitting.
Head over to WIRED's submission page to get your question in before May 27. The panel will not have all the answers. But it beats refreshing LinkedIn at 2am, wondering if your profile needs a new buzzword.
